Yesterday we went on a bug hunt and found this 'little' beastie... no wonder whole plants disappear. This is the Hickory Horned Devil (more info here) which is America's largest caterpillar. This particular specimen was about 15cm long or nearly 6 inches in length. Trying to get this one to not move was a major task...
