... looks all well and good, but you simply know that THE primary reason is the reduction in costs. Equally this system will DEFINITELY end up being sent off-shore or/and being completely roboticised at some point in the future. The latter would clearly be preferable to the former given past (and current) experiences people have with off-shored companies... the question being, who would be responsible for any accident/s?
Another rather disturbing aspect is the ability of one person to monitor multiple airports... "relieving some of the stress from what ...... is a notorious high intensity job". This aspect alone is extremely disturbing without even thinking about someone nipping out for a toilet or smoke break!
