The article speaks for itself but it would appear that there is zero sense in wiping out the genetically diverse pool which would/could be used to develop future breeds and/or ensure a 'safe harbour' in the event that a (likely) disaster strikes the larger pig farmers - the rearing of many animals in a close environment requires the administration of large doses of anti-biotics to prevent the outbreak of disease. The heritage hogs do not pose a threat at all, simply ensuring their market dominance is maintained...
