Occupy Wall Street - 700 Arrests

When you note the number, perhaps it is worthwhile considering the fine line between the police maintaining law and order and simple repression of free speech. The clear heavy handedness and huge police presence would seem to indicate the latter. Most reporting seems to skip over this matter without dwelling upon it. The people who are protesting have been subjected to mace spraying, tasering, arrest for trying to speak (calmly and asking for information) to a police officer, and many other minor things. The traditional/mainstream Media/Press have done little to cover this at all. There is a fairly neutral report here. And in one word from the protesters here.

The Occupy Wall Street web site is here.
