Some information re cookies and Flash cookies... here. And some more here.
IF you use Firefox it is simply a case of using ShareMeNot, BetterPrivacy, and BleachBit... For BetterPrivacy, do some reading up about LSO´s (Local Shared Objects) and what / why to do with them...
There is an issue of buttons which appear on websites allowing you to link with Facebook, Twitter etc... These buttons like allow Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, and others to track your online browsing activities on every site that includes one of these buttons, even if you never click the buttons and (in some browsers) even if you have third-party cookies disabled?
ShareMeNot is a Firefox add-on designed to prevent third-party buttons (such as the Facebook “Like” button or the Twitter “tweet” button) embedded by sites across the Internet from tracking you until you actually click on them. Unlike traditional solutions, ShareMeNot does this without completely removing the buttons from the web experience.
With regard to ¨evercookies¨ (cookies that are embedded in multiple locations so that removing them is almost pointless as they simply regenerate themselves), the ONLY way I know of cleaning these from your computer is to use BleachBit This will remove and clean up your computer but does require some technical knowledge and of course common sense...
If you know of other perhaps simpler methods then please leave a comment.
