iPhone Malfunction and Pink Noise

Users of the iPhone are well aware of the 'keyboard lag' problem along with several other usability issues. One person has come up with a fix (kludge?) here. This is not the main point of this post. There is an interesting Wired article entitled "Your Computer Really Is Part Of You" and relates to how we interface with technology. In this particular instance to the mouse. More here. The interesting part related to Heidegger, the German philosopher, and his 'ready to hand' concept. The upshot of this all is, when a mouse works we use it to a specific formula called 'pink noise' where it is almost signature like in the style of operation (i.e. the mouse is essentially part of or an extension of ourselves). When the mouse does not work as expected (bang mouse on desk now to make it work properly - who has not done this?) then it ceases to be part of you and you become aware of it. Called 'unreadiness to hand' by Heidegger.

Not bad, iPhone problem and solution, German philosophy, technology, and a scientific formula, all in one post...
