Birthers

The LA Times has a wonderful piece by Bill Maher about the "Birthers" and how they should be stopped. It is witty and hits the nail on the head regarding the lunacy of the situation. She has a seal on her birth certificate? Is she from Alaska? What twaddle and the word "Plank" comes to mind.

I will not dwell too much on the issue currently but will come back to it soon. There are plenty of articles and you just need to type "Birthers" on YouTube to get some idea. My favourite is this one here. With a close second being this one. Stick with the second one as it gives a good indication of the type of thought process leading to the formation of the Birthers... take particular note of the 'facts' published here.

It is about time the Democrats grew some cajones and start speaking out regarding things that are total nonsense. Obama is proving to be a bit of a disappointment in several areas where he made clear statements regarding what he intended to do once in office. There are many things he is already looking decidedly weak on. Similarly, action needs to be taken regarding a review of what laws were broken by the previous administration.

As a minor point, John McCain was born in Panama... I believe this issue will resurface (if it dies) during the next US Election...
