
There are some wonderful mash-ups over at Boing-Boing following the latest 'there are terrorists out there' campaign by the London police.
Some people may find similarities between this and events in Germany in the 30's.

As the example above rightly shows, reality is far more complex. Not knocking an awareness campaign but the police campaign is far more sinister and alarmist. "Be afraid, be very afraid" etc. Statistically, the likelihood of you being in the same town as a 'terrorist' is minimal. Spending your time reading this sort of thing is more likely to get you run over by a 'terrorist' bus or give you medical problems through false anxiety.
When someone is anxious they are more pliant.
