Many a joke...

... made in jest. Only the other day I received the picture below from a friend in Australia. On the BBC web site there is this here.

PETA & that fly

PETA - You appear to have lost touch with reality. First, the fish hurling. Now? Criticising Obama for swatting (and killing) a fly. Here. This was clearly a bi-partisan move. He is left-handed and got the fly with his right.

Here is the Yahoo article on the PETA stance.

Here is an article on the 'fish hurling' in Pike Place Fish Market, Seattle.

I suggest someone from PETA get a life themselves. As a simple test, I suggest covering a PETA member with fish 'slurry' and putting them out in the sun for the flies to investigate...

Good grief. There are quite seriously much more pressing issues than these in relation to the ethical treatment of animals. Minor detail PETA... flies are not animals.

Brussels Sprouts

This much maligned vegetable which I happen to enjoy (I would not say 'love') as part of my diet has received a setback from the British Royal Navy. Quite frankly, my personal opinion regarding the decision and the reasoning behind it is "WTF?" One individual with a specific dislike for a vegetable and others have to do without. It makes no sense.

When cooked properly, BS's are delicious. As the article points out, they are also high in essential vitamins i.e., they are really good for you. Given the high salt, high sugar, high fat, high carbs, low fibre, pre-processed diets that a large (emphasis on that word) proportion of the western world is currently favouring, I would take sprouts any time.

Here.

Is everybody "Happeh"

This is just so... odd... here.

Do I REALLY need to make a comment?

If you are looking for a 'different' hotel

Look no further than these ones here.

A different take on "Moving House"

Here

Interesting article re Cisco and Zettabytes

A zettabyte you ask? What is that? Here is thw Wikipedia entry... here.

Here is the article that explains Cisco's take on the amount of data set to be flowing around the interwebnettubes... here.

Out on a limb

My favourite here.

Particularly the Lysol advert and the bad copy using 'proved' instead of 'proven'.

This link sends you to a site that will keep you fascinated for a long time. Do not forget to come back here though... here.

More gripping than a Dan Brown novel

Well, personally I do not classify these as novels. More in line with comic book commentary. While the subject matter is a little on the 'gross' side, I assure you that the tale is gripping and amusing at the same time. You will not be able to put this one down.

You have been warned. Here.

Whatever your God...

... this is bothering... here.

On one side you have the alarmist approach, on the other you have a religion that is TELLING its members to be fornicators. This is the opposite of most of their teaching.

Interestingly, it is in Catholic countries where birth rates are seeing a steep decline e.g., Spain and Italy. Either people are not having sex or the anti birth control message is simply not getting across.

Thanks to DM for this one...
