I left the UK about 12 years ago. This Guardian article really hits it on the head regarding what the UK has become in mine and many other ex-pats eyes. There is a line in the national anthem 'Britons never shall be slaves'. Unfortunately, I think many, if not most, already have.
Don't get me wrong here. I am proud, very proud to be British. I am just not proud of what Britain has become.
Here is the REAL national anthem although others would say that this is.
